The dawn of the New Year gives each of us the opportunity to take care of ourselves and take control of your health. Take up and adhere to some of the health resolutions discussed below to usher in well-being this New Year.

Exercise and Workouts

This tops the charts of most people these days as due to sedentary and stressful lifestyles many of us put on weight. Weight gain leads to a host of health problems such as heart disease, high cholesterol, increased risk of stroke and much more. So, this new year make it a point to do some cardio activity for half hour a day, 4-5 times a week.

Exercising regularly has many health benefits and also lets you feel good about yourself. For those who cannot find time from their busy schedules, try walking more, take the steps, do household chores – ensuring you remain agile throughout the day.

Eat Healthy

This is the golden rule to good health. Cut down on junk food, fried snacks, sweets and other items loaded with sugar, refined flour, butter and other fattening ingredients. Instead, choose ‘whole-grain’ food, fresh veggies and fruits. Remember to include a variety of different colored fruits and vegetables to ensure you get all necessary vitamins and minerals.

Quit Smoking and Drinking

This the top most resulting that many people make on New Year, however few stick to it. By constantly reminding yourself of the heath hazards of smoking and drinking and by getting professional help you can certainly attain this target. Kicking the smoking and drinking habit will certainly add many years to your life and improve your health and stamina.

Find a Hobby

The stress and the fast pace associated to modern living often leave us feeling us exhausted mentally and physically. To beat stress and rejuvenate your mind and body, pursue an activity that you enjoy. This will help you remain and positive and focused.

Last but not the least, remember to consume 8-10 glasses of water daily and get 8 hours of sleep every day.
