It is not a rule that you have to lose a fortune along with your weight. You should better do away with all those magic potions, pills and diet patches. If your doctor does not list it on your prescription then do not take it.

Stick to the good old healthy home food

Eat food that has low content of fat, salt and sugar along with lots of vegetables and fruits, whole grains and lean proteins. You can use all of these and cook up some really great and healthy recipes.

Search the net, read some cookbooks and you will find several healthy recipes to choose from. Make a meal plan for a week using the different recipes. The secret is to keep to the plan. Along with the weekly plan, also prepare a grocery list that you will need so that nothing can keep you from following your plan.

Food that you prepare yourself is always better than that you get in restaurants or fast food outlets because you know that most of the ingredients are healthy for you. If however, you have to eat out, then select carefully where you eat and what you eat. Stick to eating fish or chicken and salad with the dressing at the side.

If you are not hungry then do not stuff

This is a simple rule. Listen to your stomach. If it is full, why overstuff it? It is best to stop as soon as you feel full. If you are overeating, eating more than your body needs, then it will get stored up as fat.

Exercising regularly is a part of any healthy weight loss regime. However, not many people can keep to it. The best thing to do is to incorporate some movement and physical activity in your daily life.

The best exercise that is also free is walking. It is good for your health and you can do it anywhere. Walk and reach where you want to.
