Malaria

Malaria is a chronic disease. It affects the humans through mosquitoes. Malaria is caused by a parasite called Plasmodium. In the human body, the parasites multiply in the liver, and then infect red blood cells. It is prevalent mainly in tropical and sub-tropical regions. Many cases of malaria are considered today all over the world. Each year, there are approximately 515 million cases of malaria, killing between one and three million people, the majority of whom are young children.

It is most common disease and an enormous public health problem. Malaria affects 40% of world’s population. 25 April is a day of unified commemoration of the global effort to provide effective control of malaria around the world

Symptoms:

Symptoms of the malaria usually shows its effect after 10-15 days of mosquito bite.
• Fever
• Headache
• Sometimes vomiting
• Shivering
• Fever with cool body
• Pain in limps
• light headedness
• Shortness of breathe
• Nausea
• Coma(in severe cases)
• Feeling tingling in the skin

Prevention and Treatment:

As malaria can be caught before going to advanced stage but if you ignore these symptoms sometimes it become life threatening.
• Preventative drugs must be taken continuously to reduce the risk of infection.
• Use nets when you are sleeping in open area.
• Indoor residual spraying with insecticide to control the vector mosquitoes.
• You can use insecticides, and antimalarial drugs are effective tools to fight malaria in areas where it is transmitted.
• Travelers can avoid malaria risk with taking antimalarial doze.
