Macaroni Salad
Salads are a healthy form of food and when one adds macaroni to them, it becomes health combined with taste and flavor. Macaroni salad is one of the all time favorites which is ideal for almost any occasion. Easy to make, easy to pack and easy to eat makes them even more favorable for outdoor picnics and gatherings. Macaroni salads can be made according to one’s needs and desires as salads being made for health conscious people can be made with low-fat and those being made for purely taste and serving basis can have a topping of cheese too. Moreover, the best part of this delicious salad is that it can be made with just the right amount of creaminess which would not turn into heaviness. Thus, it helps you feel full without leading to a heavy or an uneasy feeling.
Preparation of a Low Fat Macaroni Salad:
To prepare a low fat macaroni salad for health conscious people, one should first do a simple preparation of macaroni and then drain and rinse it with cool water. After the macaroni gets cold, one needs to take a large bowl and combine cold macaroni, thawed peas, chopped celery, pepper, carrot and onion in it. In another small bowl, one should combine mayonnaise, yogurt and mustard. This should then be added to pasta salad and should be tossed well to coat it. After chilling it for at least 2 hours, low fat macaroni salad becomes ready to eat.
Low fat macaroni salad is a perfect combination of health with taste. It contains the essential nutrients like fats, proteins, carbs, fiber and sodium in optimum amounts. Moreover, if one wants to prepare macaroni salad for parties and functions, one can add toppings of cheese, meat or eggs according to one’s choice and taste.
