Lowering Cholesterol Level with a Healthy Lifestyle

DietSmartTipsDo you want to know why you have a high cholesterol level? Have you tried assessing your habits and lifestyle? Your lifestyle and routines in life have direct contributions to the level of cholesterol in your body.

Do you smoke?  Do you know that smoking causes the increase of bad cholesterol in your body?  It does so and it decreases the level of good cholesterol in the blood.

The worst thing that smoking does is to injure the arterial wall, hence, totally damaging it.  When this happens, it affects our body’s inherent ability to repair its arteries and can later lead on to several heart diseases. Thus, if you do smoke, it is time to stop it now.

Do you drink alcohol? How frequent?  Similar to smoking, drinking alcohol will increase the level of bad cholesterol in the body.  The liver will have to work harder with too much alcohol intake.  This liver activity will damage the arteries and the effects will be as worse as brain damage.

With the damaged arteries, there is a high possibility of blood clot, which prevents the normal circulation of blood to the different body organs. This can lead to heart failure.

Alcoholism also leads to the development of other diseases. Hence, stop drinking, for it is not good for your heart and generally, for your body.

Are you a couch potato? Do you like to just sit and watch TV? Watch out, because this inactivity is not good for your body. Non-activity does not contribute to the normal excitement that the heart experiences. Exercise solves this need of the heart.

With a good and regular cardio exercise, besides losing weight, it allows you to make your heart function well. Hence, it can prevent heart diseases from occurring.

Start a regular exercise routine. A simple walk, doing a household chore, or a jog everyday, will be helpful. It will also relieve you from stress caused by too much work or too much thinking due to many concerns.

This is the time to change your lifestyle and have a low level of bad cholesterol in your body. Check out which of your habits need to be addressed and thrown away to enjoy a healthy life.
