Low carb dieting tips

A plateau is a very frustrating place to be in. Days pass and weeks sail by, yet the number on your scale does not change, neither does the number on the tape change. It can be quite exasperating when you seem to be working yourself out in vain.

It might even give you the temptation to give up. It is a stage in dieting when your weight seems to remain constant no matter how much exercise or dieting you do.

This plateau is normal and it should not deter you from staying on your diet. The thing is that while you are burning fat, a point will come when you will begin to develop lean body mass or muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat and therefore you might not be seeing the difference. However, remember that muscle burns more calories than fat, so it’s good.

You can notice that you are losing fat by trying on clothes that were tighter at first. They will now feel to fit you well or even be loose.

The plateaus can stay for three or four weeks on an average and are a challenge for you to keep going. If you do not give up, you will see changes and be satisfied with the results.

However, if your plateau continues for more than a month then you might be doing some things wrong. Read on to find out.

Taking unnecessary carbohydrates
This can be a reason that you might have increased the amount of carbohydrates that you take. Some foods have masked carbohydrates, which you may not notice.

Overeating
There is a chance that you might be overeating. Eating right is not enough; you need to keep to the right amount.

You might not be exercising regularly
After a certain period, you need to increase the intensity of your exercise after you reach a certain comfort level, if you want to burn calories.

Keep yourself hydrated enough
You should drink a minimum of eight glasses water everyday. If you do not drink enough water, you might not be getting the most out of your workouts.
