Leg Training Exercises

The legs are very important to us because they carry us to wherever we want to go. When you are standing, it is the legs that support and carry the weight of your body. That is why you need very strong legs. Imagine all the things you can’t do comfortably without your legs. The legs need training and the following exercises are good leg training exercises that you should include in your training.

Basic squats
This is done by placing a barbell on your shoulders at the back of your neck. Spread your feet shoulder-width apart. Then squat as you want to sit on a box. Make sure your knees are in line with your toes to avoid getting knee injuries. When you are comfortable, try and get to an angle of 90%. Raise yourself slowly up to a standing position. That is one rep. basic squats can vary. There are front squats, back squats, and sumo squats. Front and back squats are determined by where the barbell is. Sumo squats are done by turning your feet out so that you can incorporate the inner thighs muscles and the glutes into the exercise.

Deadlifts
You can do deadlifts by either holding a barbell in front of you or holding a dumbbell by each side. Squat down slowly so that the weights are at the side of your feet. Make sure your back is straight during the movement. Hold on for a second and get back to start position. The difference between deadlifts and squats is that you lean slightly more forward by adjusting your body.

Walking lunges
This is how it goes. Take a large step forward while holding a pair of dumbbell. Bend both knees and lower your body to a lunge position. Push off your back, using the squad muscle. Rise to the starting position and then repeat the process with the other leg. That is one rep. make sure your knees move in line with your toes and they are in line with you’re ankles. Vary this by taking large and small steps. Large steps work on your hamstrings and small steps work on your quadriceps.

These are exercises you must include in your daily exercise to get your legs in shape and strong.
