Kashmiri Dum Aloo

Kashmiri dum aloo came under the category of spicy foods. This is popular dish of Kashmir. This is double beneficial as it gives way to taste and also it is low fat food. This could be prove best serving for the health conscious people.

Preparation Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients:
Potato (small sized) – 1/2kg
Oil
Kashmiri chili (dried) -6
Curd – 200 mg
Dry ginger powder-1tsp
Garam masala- ½ tsp
Cardamom powder- ½ tsp
Cumin power (roasted) – ½ tsp
Fennel powder – 2 tsps
Mustard oil – ¼ cup
Clove powder – tip of tsp
Asafoetida – a pinch
Salt – according to taste
Water

How to Make:
Peel the whole potato with the help of fork.
Drain it in salted water and leave it for 15 minutes.
Take a deep pan and put the oil in it.
Now fry the potatoes in the pan until they turn to brown color.
Make a paste of dried Kashmiri chilies. Put cardamom powder, dry chili powder, dry ginger powder and fennel powder to that paste. Mix all of them thoroughly.
Heat mustard oil in a pan. Add asafoetida and clove powder to the pan.
Add half cup of water and salt to it. Leave it to boil.
Stir the curd to it and leave it until boil.
Add the fried potatoes to the gravy and leave on the low medium heat until potatoes absorb the gravy.
Garnish with coriander leaves.
Serve hot.
You can serve it with rice or chapatti.
