Indigestion

Indigestion is a condition when your stomach feels upset. It is also known as dyspepsia. Whenever indigestion occurs you feel discomfort or burning feeling in upper stomach. Nausea, vomiting, belching and abdominal bloating is also accompanied with indigestion.
Indigestion can be caused by diseases in a digestive tract such as ulcer or gastro esophageal reflux disease (GERD). In many people, it is also caused by eating too much, eating too quickly, eating high-fat foods, or eating during stressful situations. Smoking, drinking too much alcohol, using medications that irritate the stomach lining, being tired, and having ongoing stress can also cause indigestion or make it worse.
It is a very common problem and many people have it time to time. It doesn’t require any special kind of advice from health care professional. It is therefore important to seek medical advice if you have indigestion regularly, if it is particularly painful, or if you suddenly experience it having never experienced it before.
Indigestion symptoms are often described as heartburn. It gives burning pain behind the breast bone. Nausea, feeling of fullness and belching or gas are the three main symptoms associated with indigestion. You need some home remedies to get rid of this problem. Following is the list of some important home remedies that can help in relieving condition of indigestion.
Take a glass of water add two three drops of mint essence in it. You can drink this water after gap of every 4 hours.
Take a glass of water and put lemon juice or cider vinegar to it. You can have it after taking your meal.
Give your body a chance of digesting food. Don’t eat heavy food and immediately go to sports practice. Try to eat small amounts of meals after gaps. Try to eat at least an hour before doing physical exertion or eat afterwards.
Avoid eating too many chocolates and too many citrus fruits as acids contained in citrus fruits can harm digestive system.
Smoking can be another cause of indigestion, so don’t smoke if you want to save yourself from indigestion.
Avoid eating fatty, greasy and oily food to save you from indigestion.
Take equal amount of ginger powder, black pepper, dried mint leaves, asafetida, coriander seeds, anise seeds, cumin, fennel and common salt. Mix all the ingredients and grind well. You can take a teaspoon of this powder with water twice a day after meals.
