Increase Your Upper Body Mass

September 9, 2009

upperbodymassTo have a balanced look for your body you must work all the muscle groups throughout the body. Men tend to avoid working their lower bodies while women tend to avoid exercising their upper bodies.

Men are looking for the desired look of having a bulging upper body while women fear that their arms and shoulders will get too big and not look feminine anymore.

Men and women alike need to focus on strengthening and growing their upper body muscles to the extent that they are comfortable with. This article will discuss several ways to do so.

Building upper body strength and muscles does not mean running immediately to the free weight and Nautilus section of the gym. Building upper body muscles is a combination of work out routines just like building any other muscle group.

You need to combine cardiovascular exercises, stretches, weight, and resistance training exercises.  The upper body consists of many muscle groups.

Some of the most important segments of the upper body to train to build more upper body mass are the abdominal muscles, the chest, a person’s deltoids, which are located on the side of the upper arm, and a person’s back muscles.

While training your muscles it is important to keep up with a healthy diet and routine exercise plan. This will help to sculpt the upper body into a desirable form.

When building upper body muscle mass you cannot go about this endeavor willy-nilly. You must be dedicated to the hard work and discipline that is required for success.

But at the same time, be practical about the way you go about building upper body muscle mass. Some people go the route of using illegal steroids or having muscles surgically implanted. While you may get results, you are doing your body more harm than good.

Build Muscle Mass at Home

Swimming is one of the top forms of cardio activity to build upper body muscles. When swimming you use your upper body muscle groups such as the arms and chest to pull your body.

Try incorporating a swim into your routine after you have lifted weights. This way your body can recover and relax.

Once you have set your mind to building a more muscular upper body you will also need to evaluate your diet. It is important to consume a diet that is high in protein and amino acids.

This combination will give you the strength necessary to exercise. Also, protein and amino acids are the building blocks for muscles. Eliminate foods that are high in fat and fiber such as red meat, fruits, and vegetables.

Add some strength building exercises to your routine such as push-ups, dumbbell curls, and pull-ups.

Lastly, consider adding a Nitric Oxide supplement to your diet. Nitric Oxide enables the blood to flow more freely to the muscles. It can also prevent certain health conditions such as diabetes.
