Improving your metabolism
Our bodies need fuel just as the cars need it. The performance of the car can be improved by a good fuel, like wise it can also be degraded if a cheap quality or incorrect fuel is put in the car. This is as same as what happens to our body. Our bodies work better on a good fuel and like wise for the reverse. More fuel is burned by the basic processes like breathing and blood circulation if we are inactive.
Weight loss is possible by reducing the amount of calorie intake. However, the amount of exercise performed and the influence of that exercise on the metabolism is also equally important. Always involve in movement and physical effort as it is a part of exercise. Climb stairs rather than opting for the elevator. Play with the kids rather than just watching them play. All these small packages of exercise will add to make a great difference to your total activity during the week.
Metabolic rate:-
Metabolic rate is increased by the exercise we perform. This metabolic rate burns up the calories for about 24 hours after we have exercised. Muscle mass is also increased by exercising and the more muscle mass you have the more calories you will burn.
In rare cases, obesity is caused by genetics of medical causes. It is mostly upon the person and the metabolic rate. There are people who stuff a lot of food but still remain slim as they have a high metabolic rate, while other watch what they eat and end up saying no to food, but still are fat or over weight as they have a low metabolic rate.
How to increase the metabolic rate?
One should drink about 8 to 10 glasses of water every day, however the more water intake the better it is. This increases the metabolism and helps in reducing the fat and toxins
Only 10% of the day’s total calories should be taken out from carbohydrates or sugar. A diet low in sugar and simple carbohydrates is generally lower in fat and calories and higher in nutrients.
Proteins are good as they help in the digestion of more calories than any other food. Therefore it’s better to replace high fat food with high protein and complex carbohydrates.
Eat small meals or snacks 4 to 6 times in a day as it helps in improving the metabolic rate.
