Importance Of Sleep

Sleep is essential for a person’s health and wellbeing, according to the National Sleep Foundation (NSF). Millions of people are suffering from either lack of sleep or not getting proper sleep. Sleep is defined as a state of unconsciousness from which a person can be aroused. In this state, the brain is relatively more responsive to internal stimuli than external stimuli. A normal person requires 7-8 hours of sleep daily.

Sleep is necessary for the normal, healthy functioning of the human body. It is a complicated physiological phenomenon that scientists do not fully understand. A recent survey found that more people are sleeping less than six hours a night and problem arise to this concern. Sleeping is very important in many aspects.

Importance of sleeping:

Our body needs sleep as much as oxygen is needed by our body. It increases the work efficiency of a person as a person feel fresh after taking a sound sleep and can work more efficiently.

Less sleep is associated with many diseases, so if you take a proper sleep you will be able to cure illnesses.

Serious sleep disorders have been linked to hypertension, increased stress hormone levels, and irregular heartbeat.

Sleep helps the brain commit new information to memory through a process called memory consolidation. In studies, people who’d slept after learning a task did better on tests later.
