How to Safely Use Hot Wax Hair Removal
Unfortunately, for most women, body hair removal is a problem we face on a daily basis. Whether it is tidying up a few stragglers on our eyebrows or totally removing the hair from our legs there are numerous methods we can use. This can make the whole process a very daunting and confusing experience.
The Joys of Shaving
If you have been shaving for a while you will be well aware of the pitfalls of this method. First of all, cutting yourself seems to be inevitable, especially when you are rushing for an important meeting, special date, or exciting social occasion. Let’s face it! No one wants their confidence, and their looks, spoiled by a huge band-aid stuck to their shin! And, while there is no evidence to support it, the hair really does seem to grow back thicker! The main reason for this is that shaving blunts the end of the hair, which makes it feel more stubbly when it does grow back – about five minutes later!
The Pain of Permanent Hair Removal
Whichever method of permanent hair removal you might opt for it is always going to be very painful – on the pocket. Lazer treatments, electrolysis, and the numerous other so-called ‘permanent’ depilatory methods are very painful – on the pocket! For celebrities these may be perfect options, but for those of us who actually have to work for a living, they are really out of our league.
To Wax or Not to Wax? That is the Question!
Waxing is relatively quick and inexpensive, and gives long-lasting results. OK, so it’s not as long-lasting as the permanent methods of torture but it is a huge improvement on the five minutes of smoothness you might achieve with other temporary methods. Yes, it might hurt a bit, especially the first time, but you do get used to it and it really is over in a flash. Ask friends for a recommendation so you know you will get a reputable therapist who will reassure you and make it as comfortable as possible. Talk to her in advance to make sure you know exactly what will happen and what you can do to prepare. Take someone along with you on the first visit just for moral support. And perhaps pop a couple of pain-killers in your purse, just in case!
