How to Lose Weight through Exercise

1.    The first and foremost thing is to ensure that you exercise regularly. A study shows that only 45% of adults are able to exercise four days a week for half an hour per day, which is the bare minimum one should do.

If you miss two weeks of aerobics workouts, your capability to do aerobics is drastically reduced. Hence it is essential that you perform these exercises on a consistent basis for achieving desired loss of weight.

2.    For achieving a significant loss in weight, you must perform aerobic/cardiovascular and resistance/strength exercises. You will burn fat by doing aerobic exercises, whereas the strength exercise helps in toning up your muscles. Perform these exercises at least 4 times every week.

3.    The intensity at which you exercise needs to be modified periodically. This can be done by adjusting the settings on your strength machines or adding weights in your wrists/ankles. These adjustments will make the exercising routine interesting and also challenging to your body.

4.    Perform your exercises as and when you can. It can be done in the mornings, evenings or in between shorter intervals when time is available for you.

5.    Maximum benefit can be obtained from your exercise if you have a friend who joins you in your exercising program. You could set a time convenient to both of you for exercise. This will be an incentive for you to attend the exercise routine regularly.

6.    Wear shoes and clothing that are comfortable and avoid excess makeup. Your aim must be to exercise for looking great and not looking great during exercising. Join a health club exclusively for women wherein you can concentrate more on your exercising than on appearance.

7.    Your heart rate should not exceed the limits when you do exercises; hence you should check it at ten-minute intervals. This will help in your exercising by burning excess fat and keeping the heart rate under prescribed limits.

8.    If you are to benefit from your exercise routine, your body requires a proper balanced diet and plenty of water. Otherwise, the response from your body will be poor.

9.    During your exercise routine, breathe deeply; this will provide your muscles with the maximum amount of oxygen, thereby making them more effective.

10.    The only established method for weight loss is exercising consistently; hence you should stay away from all the magic potions being advertised for weight loss.

If you follow the above suggestions for losing weight, you can get optimum benefit from your workout routine.
