How to Gain Muscle

gainmusclesmassWith all of the information that is available on techniques to build muscle mass; the average person looking to build some lean muscles can be quite confused as to how to go about doing it properly and safely.

There are however, three factors that you should keep in mind when you have determined to set a goal for yourself. In this article, we will discuss the three primary rules to follow in order to gain lean muscle mass quickly and safely.

Step One

Building body strength is essential to building lean muscle mass. The masses of bodybuilders in the world are under some misrepresentation that you do not need to have strength in order to build muscle mass.

This is obviously not the case. In fact, it is quite the opposite of the truth. The stronger your muscles are, the larger they will be able to be built. Anyone who has been successful in building strong, large muscles will tell you that the trick to doing so is to start off with strength training and weight training exercises.

By focusing on some of the basic weight training exercises such as squats and dead lifts, you will increase first the strength and then the size of your muscle groups.

Step Two

Food is essential to building muscle mass. But you cannot eat just any foods. You need to acquire a “bodybuilding diet”. A bodybuilder’s diet consists of large amounts of protein.

The recommended amount of protein is two grams for every pound that the person weighs. It is also important not to skimp on the calories. Add calories to your diet by eating complex carbohydrates and low fat foods.

Carbohydrates and fat will give your body the energy it needs to work out while the protein will be used to repair the muscles that you tear and rebuild.

Step Three

Wisely add nutritional supplements to your diet. Supplements on their own will not build lean muscle mass but they are a good way to supplement your diet and exercise plan. Some of the recommended supplements are protein powders and creatine.

A good muscle-building program combines diet, exercise, and supplements.
