How to Build Body

April 8, 2009

bodybuildBody building is more than just lifting weights and taking dietary supplements.  Ask any body building professional and they will tell you that body building takes planning and a lot of hard work to create the perfect body.

If you are considering trying professional body building, read this article for some body building tips.

The first step to body building is finding the proper attire.  Make sure your clothes are loose fitting and lightweight.  You need to let your skin breathe and sweat.  Your workout attire should be made of cotton because this fabric absorbs the sweat.

Loose fitting clothes will make it easier for your body to move.  It is important to drink plenty of water or Gatorade before, during and after your workout.  Drinking water is a good habit to get into regardless of whether or not you are working out.

When you lift weights it is very important to handle the weights properly.  Don’t think that the easiest way to lift weights is always the best way.  If you do not know how to properly handle the weights, find a personal fitness trainer or an experienced body builder for some assistance.  Never be afraid to ask questions.  It could save you from injuring yourself.

Before you even begin to lift weights you will need to warm up your muscles.  You can do so by walking on the treadmill for several minutes or stretching on the floor.  If you lift weights without stretching your muscles, you can tear or strain a muscle.

When you perform warm up exercises you stimulate blood flow in your muscles and get them ready for a strenuous workout.  After you have finished your warm up, select light weights to do your first set of repetitions.  Once your muscles have got used to the weights, move up into heavier weights.

A body building routine consists of working out in sets.  When you work out, you rotate the muscle groups that you are working.  Instead of dedicating half an hour to working your biceps with dumbbells and then spending the last half an hour building your deltoids, rotate your muscle groups.

Start off using dumbbells on your biceps for about 10 minutes and then switch to deltoid exercises and back again to biceps.  Do not lift more than your body can handle.  You need to know what your limits are.

Lifting heavier weights will not cause you to build muscles faster – it will only cause more strain.  To successfully body build, do three sets of ten repetitions and slowly increase the weight as the sets get easier.

A beautiful body will not happen overnight, but with persistence it will happen.
