How to avoid gaining weight during your summer vacations
It is a certain fact now that most of the weight we gain is from periods of indulgence that we could not cater for later. One period when this kind of indulgence occurs is when we are on holidays.
After we get to our destinations, one thing we want to explore in addition to nature is the local cuisine that offers a lot of temptations we cannot resist.
This article is supposed to be a guide for those going on holidays so that they don’t come home with the fear of extra weight.
Don’t relax
When people go on vacations, they think it is time for them to live relaxed lives. They don’t want to measure their food any more; they don’t follow any diet plan.
The result of that relaxed life, when summer is over, is the price they have to pay when they go to the weight loss clinics.
Don’t starve
This does not mean you should starve. It only means that you should continue to eat a balanced diet even when on holidays. You should be careful about what to eat, what to avoid, when to eat, what you eat and why you eat .
One thing we should know is that there are no bad foods. There are only bad eating habits.
Don’t skip meals
When you go on vacations make sure you don’t skip meals. This is the most important thing. It is better eating regular meals than to eat a big chunk of food after starving yourself during the day.
You will be able to control your eating and resist the many temptations that may come your way. If you skip meals you will eat more than usual.
Exercise
On your vacations do some walking or cycling. If you do a lot of exercise, you will not be thinking so much about extra weight. You can then eat your normal portions and sometimes a little more.
There are many opportunities for exercise that you can explore during your vacations. You should not reserve things you do for a healthy lifestyle until the end of your vacation.
Get enough sleep so that your body can relax and refresh.
