How to achieve your weight loss resolutions

Have you made some resolutions to lose a specific number of pounds in the coming year and then failed, year after year? If you have, then you are in the right place.

This article discusses about what are the factors that cause you to fail or hinder you from progressing further on towards your goal.

We believe that we can make some short-term fixes and achieve a solution that will last long

This is wrong thinking on our part. The fact is that losing weight is not a one-time thing. It is a lifestyle change that you will have to live with for the rest of your life. You will not be able to return to your old habits once you have achieved your goal.

Sometimes, even though we know that there are no quick fixes, we tend to give in to the temptation of achieving results in a short period, which is not possible at all.

We do not wait enough for the results

This is similar to the first thinking pattern. You do everything right, exercise right and do all that is required to keep going. However, then we fall into the trap of some faulty thinking.

We start becoming impatient that our weight loss is not happening fast enough. When we do not see our weight reducing at a faster pace, we start to lose our motivation to keep exercising. However, you should keep up your spirits and remember that the weight loss that is happening gradually is the one that will stay for longer, compared to other fad diets.

We start making excuses

As the year passes by, we start to lose interest or motivation and cave in to the common excuses like less time or unaffordable. However, remember that you will need exercise if you want to have a healthy weight loss and maintain it.

Our mind is not in the right place

Sometimes, we start the exercising for all the wrong reasons. Our motivation is not our health but something that is more emotional than practical. This makes us easy targets to get swayed from our resolutions.

If you are trying to seek comfort in food or trying to please someone, then these are the wrong reasons and these reasons will not keep you going for long.

Therefore, if you want to start living a healthy lifestyle, then do it simply for yourself.
