How the Calorie Shifting Diet Works

November 3, 2009

caloriesshiftingdietIf you are carrying some excess weight and would like to lose it so that you can feel healthier, then you should consider trying a diet to lose the extra weight.

With so many diet plans on the market making promises of drastic weight loss, it is hard to differentiate between efficient diet programs and scams.

Here is one more diet program to add to your list of things to try. This diet program is nothing like the other fad diets. It is known as Calorie Shifting. Calorie shifting is a revolutionary diet program that actually brings the results that you are looking for.

This diet program has worked for many people who have followed the program. The calorie shifting diet works by increasing the body’s metabolic rate so that the body can burn the optimal amount of calories.

When most people begin a diet, they typically fail because they believe that they have to starve themselves and as a result, they are left feeling hungry. When a person experiences hunger while on a diet, they wind up cheating on their diet or overeating to compensate for the hunger.

The result is that the person winds up relapsing. Calorie shifting is a completely different diet program. It does not require eating less to lose weight.

Instead, your body is taught how to naturally burn food that you take in. You will never feel hungry on this diet program because you are constantly eating throughout the day.

While on the calorie shifting diet you are encourage to eat six meals each day. The trick is that you mix the amount of calories in each meal. For example, your breakfast may have more calories than your dinner.

In order to start the calorie shifting diet you will first need to know the amount of calories that your body needs to function on a daily basis. You can figure this out by incorporating your age, current weight and the amount of activity you do each day.

You can find calorie-counting calculators by searching for them online. Once you know the calories you take in each day, figure out how many calories you would like to eliminate from your daily diet.

Try to stay around 500 calories. So, if your body requires 2,500 calories to function each day, reduce that by 500 and now aim to eat 2,000 calories a day. This will be your daily target.

Now, take this number and divide it by six meals a day. This will let you know how many calories you need to take in at each meal. Remember to alternate your calories for each meal. This will cause confusion and stop you from overeating.
