How Long does it Take to Build Muscle
People will differ in the speed that they build muscle mass. If you have the body type that puts on muscle fast you will build muscle faster. The skinny hard gainers will build muscle mass slower.
There is no precise formula for building muscle mass. In general, if you start a program and follow a diet you should notice a significant difference in eight to twelve weeks.
Genetics and body type play a big role in how fast you gain muscle. How your body will respond to bodybuilding depends on your body type. There are three different body types an ectomorph, mesomorph, and an endomorph.
An ectomorph is naturally small and thin. These are the people that have trouble gaining weight. They will have the most dificulty putting on muscle mass.
Their training should be slow paced, with heavier weights, and longer rests between sets. They need to avoid aerobics that burn up their calories. They will need to be on a very high calorie diet to gain muscle mass.
A mesomorph’s body is naturally athletic but they have to diet and exercise to keep it that way. They should train with heavy weights moderately paced.
Their rests between sets should be brief. They should do aerobic exercise along with weight training. They will gain muscle mass easily. They need to watch their diet to maintain their gains.
An endomorphs body puts on weight easily. In weight training, they need to lose fat before they can gain muscle. They should train at a fast pace with moderate weights.
They should rest very little between reps and sets. They need to speed up their metabolism. They should engage in aerobic activity to increase their metabolism. Their caloric intake will be lower to lose fat. They should avoid all junk food.
This gives you some idea of how fast your body type will gain muscle mass and how you should train to get it. Ectomorphs have the hardest time with their speedy metabolism.
Mesomorphs have an easier time to gain muscle mass and endomorphs are some where in between. If the endomorph can get the fat off first he or she will begin to gain muscle more quickly.
