Holi Special Recipe-Know How To Make Gujjia

Holi is just few days ahead. Preparation for Holi must be at a fast pace. When it comes to preparation, Indianss prepare gujjias beforehand as well. Yes, gujjia is the recipe, which is a must on the menu on the day of holi. There is a long list of holi special dishes, but I will tell you about few prominent dishes, which everyone has to prepare at home or buy from shops. I would suggest you to prepare gujjias at home and enjoy a healthy holi.

First let me tell you about the ingredients you need to make gujjias. Suppose, we are going to make at least 30 gujjias, for which you will be needing half kilogram of flour, which is called maida in India. Next, you need is one kilogram of condensed milk in solid form (khoya), half kilogram of sugar, around handful of resins (kismis), 150 grams of almonds, which needs to be sliced thinly. Two hundred ml of water along with 5 table spoon of any cooking oil. Apart from you will also need another 500gm of oil, for frying purpose.

First put five tablespoons of oil into the flour and mix them thoroughly. To mix them properly, it is best to use your hand. Next, pour the water into the mixture gradually and keep kneading the flour to make the dough. Once you make soft dough, you should keep it aside covering a damp cloth.

Next you fry the khoya, till it becomes a little brown. Now, add sugar into the khoya and try to mix them properly. Now, it is time to add almonds and resins as well, and then fry them for a while. Once, you remove from the heat, let the mixture cool down.

Finally, you can spread the dough and put the khoya mixture on it. You need to seal the khoya inside by twisting the edges of the spread dough. It is kind of stuffing khoya inside the dough and then fry them in slow heat. Once they try brown, keep them on a oil soaking paper for a while and then you can store them in jars.
