Healthy diet – Key to healthy life

If your diet is healthy, then so are you. Healthy foods have often borne the blame of being too repetitive and boring and, therefore, not so liked.

Even if your diet is healthy enough and delicious, you will soon wear out eating the same food every single day. This will tempt you to stray towards other unhealthy options.

If you are experiencing a bout of boredom with your healthy food, then you do not need to worry because you have come to the right place. This article discusses the importance of variety in foods and also gives you several options that are both healthy and delicious.

How to ensure variety in foods
There are several options available amongst healthy foods. For example, there are lentils, beans, nuts, dairy products, fish, meats and poultry to name a few. There are a great variety of vegetables and fruits for you to choose from.

So, simply make a different combination of these healthy varieties and you have for yourself something new almost everyday.

All you need is some creativity and effort and you will have an exciting new dish to eat everyday that will satisfy more than your taste buds and health.

The healthy five
These are the five food groups that the USDA has identified as being healthy. The five food groups are vegetables, grains, milk as well as dairy, fruits and meats.

You can combine these food groups in different varieties and add some spice to your table. However, you do not need to restrict yourself to these five foods only.

You can venture out and add some variety, simply following one golden rule. Choose more of the more healthy variety and less of the less healthy variety.

You can get all your protein from meats. Simply opting for lean cuts, you cut out the fat and keep the nutrients.

Opting whole grain foods over refined flour products is also a great way to add dietary fiber while eating healthy.

Having cereals and grains that are fortified will give you the additional advantage of minerals as well as vitamins along with the fiber.

When you have decided to eat healthy, then keep yourself informed because it will help you make intelligent choices about your foods.
