Hair Split Ends

Most of the women are facing the problem of having splits ends at their hairs. This is a very common problem which proves to be curse for every girl’s life. Split ends are mostly found in longer hair but it also affects shorter hairs too.
Split ends or trichoptlosis happens when the protective cuticles have been stripped away fro the ends of hair fibers. It is more likely to develop with the dry and brittle hairs. Once the hair cuticles are removed, it is impossible to replace. Generally, the hair splits into two or three strands, and these can be as long as two to three centimeters in length. The best treatment is to cut off the split end of the damaged fiber. Here are some of the causes of hair splits ends, that are mentioned below:

If you are using poor quality of brushes and combs there may high risk of having hair splits.
Not trimming your hair regularly is also an important cause of split ends. So, there is a need of splitting hairs at that time.
Excessive dying can cause the splitting of hairs.
Brushing wet hairs is another cause of splitting of hairs as wet hairs stretches by as much as 25%.
Sun can also damage the hairs and results to the hair problem.
Excessive use of hot styling iron such as hair dryers, hot curlers, iron and hot combs can give way to hair splitting.
Over washing dehydrates the hairs and thus it results to different hair problems.
Coloring and perms make the hairs weak and vulnerable for split ends.
Exaggerated backcombing also make the hair split since it is disturbing the cuticle.
Elastic bands all this sort of hair accessories can damage the hairs and results to hair splitting.
If you are having dry scalp than you may have more chances of having hair split.

Home remedies
Mix 1 tablespoon of castor oil and 1 table spoon of honey together. Apply the mixture to the ends of hairs and wash it after ½ an hour, this is an effective remedy for getting rid of hair splits.
Shampoo your hair after every workout or strenuous exercise as due to perspiration the salt will erode your hair.
Mix a tablespoon of almond oil with 1 egg yolk. Apply it to your scalp as well as you hair. Wash it after ½ an hour.
