Guilt Free Goodies
Thanksgiving and Christmas are right around the corner and will be here before you know it. With all of the great smells that are wafting from the kitchen, it’s hard to not pinch a little taste and there.
We have been good all year long but, the holidays can be tricky for men and women alike. When everyone is sitting down for dessert, the following recipe for cinnamon apple pie will allow you to enjoy your sweet treat without the guilt.
The ingredients are 1 cup whole wheat flour, 3.4 cup rolled oats, 1 tbsp ground cinnamon, 1 tsp baking powder, 1 egg or a protein supplement that is equivalent, ½ cup soy milk, 1 cup apple juice concentrate, 1 cup maple syrup, 1 cup raisins and 1 ¼ cup chopped peeled apples.
In a small bowl, soak the raisins in the apple juice concentrate for about 30 minutes. While they soak, spray an 8 inch square pan with vegetable cooking spray or use a non-stick pan. Stir the dry ingredients in a large bowl and toss in the apples to coat. Mix the liquid ingredients in a separate bowl and slowly add to dry mixture. Mix it until moistened and spread in your prepared baking dish. Bake it for approximately 20 minutes or until center is done.
You can sit back, relax and enjoy your sweet treat without any of the guilt of the fat. This recipe is very low in calories and fat. Won’t your mom be proud that you are finally eating healthy after all these years?
By doing a little simple research you will be able to find many recipe’s that will go along with you holiday feast. Your friends and family won’t believe it when you tell them that they are eating low fat and healthy. The ladies in your life will probably thank you for it.
So sit back and enjoy the holidays without all of the guilt from fat and calories. Instead, enjoy the football games and time with your friends for the holidays. HO HO HO Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
