Get Ready Set Go – Running To Lose Weight

runloseweightPerforming physical activity does the body good. It can be any type of activity such as aerobics, running, calisthenics, or your favorite sport or hobby that makes you have a workout of any type.

Now if you are going to go with running you need to ensure that you have performed the checklist of safety essentials to prevent injury.

Select the right shoes

Have you wondered why when you go to purchase those new pair of sneakers, you see shoes for running, basketball, or trainers? That is because shoes are made for different situations. Each type of shoe has its purpose and provides a different level of support in the sport or physical activity world.

Don’t over do it

If this is the first time that you have been out performing an exercise program, after being sedentary for a while, then you will need to start out slow and progress as your body builds up endurance.

For most people this will probably mean walking until they can progress to a faster walking pace and then eventually to a jog.

Let your body get acclimated to exercising

You never want your body to have those annoying aching pains, once you begin your journey back into the exercise world. Start slowly as your body becomes acclimated and you slowly start to build up the body’s stamina.

Learn how to breathe correctly

Breathing correctly while exercising is essential. By following the correct breathing protocol, you are helping the body ramp up the metabolism while oxidizing the body at the same time.

If you find that you seem to be out of breath or breathing heavily, you may be over exerting yourself. Try and take it down a notch until you can breathe normally.

Rethink your eating habits

Exercise and eating go hand and hand. If the only thing that you are doing is exercising but you are still eating plenty of junk and processed foods your results are going to be limited.

Additionally, your body is going to need proper nutrients to help it replenish what was lost during your exercise routine.

Remember, that running can be a good exercise as long as it is performed correctly. By following the safety checklist, you can prevent injuries down the road.
