Foot Exercises
We all understand the importance of exercise. In addition to being an excellent way to improve your looks and to lose weight, our bodies need movement in order to function properly. Most of us don’t hesitate to do exercises designed to stretch and tone the arms, legs, chest, and shoulders, but few of us stop to consider that it is just as important to exercise our feet as it is to exercise the rest of our bodies. The good news is that exercising your feet will only take a few minutes each day and is actually a lot of fun.
Walk Across the Lawn
Sometimes the simplest exercises are the most effective. One of the best ways to make sure your feet get some much needed exercise is to walk through the grass while you are barefoot. The grass will provide some resistance and walking barefoot on the ground causes your feet to bend and flex while they conform to the ground.. Try to walk in grass that is a little long which will provide more resistance than freshly mowed grass. While you are strolling through your yard stay on the look out for rocks and sharp twigs
After taking a walk through your yard, you should get a towel and sit down on the grass. Stretch your legs straight out in front of you. Your feet should be together.
Exercise the Bottom of Your Foot
Grab one end of the towel in each hand. Tuck your feet into the loop that is formed by the towel. Keep your heels on the grass while you pull on the towel. As you pull you should see that your toes are starting to move towards you and feel the Achilles tendon and the muscles in the bottom of your foot start to stretch.
When you have stretched your foot as far as it will go, you should hold the position for fifteen seconds. Relax for fifteen seconds. Repeat this exercise five times.
Upper Foot Exercise
Now that you have exercised the bottom of your foot and stretched your Achilles tendons you need to exercise the top of your foot. To do this all you have to do is remain sitting on the ground and point your toes.
