Fluids are extremely significant to accomplish all body functions effectively. It accounts for about 60 percent of the body weight. It is necessary for transportation of nutrients throughout the body as well as removal of waste products from the body. Fluids are indispensable to ward off dehydration and keep good health. There is a continuous regulation of the accurate fluid balance in the body by the electrolytes like potassium and sodium consumed.

The people who follow the macrobiotic diet restrict the fluid intake. They drink only when thirsty. They drink only purified water and tea prepared from fresh herbs. In case of gastric bypass diet to prevent dehydration, it is recommended to drink plenty of fluids.

Body Fluids compensate the loss of water through sweating and passing urine. There are variety of fluids, which should be consumed in a restricted manner such as tea, coffee, colas and sweetened juices. Tea prepared from fresh herbs and spring water is known to be the well-balanced and healthy beverages.

Drinking fluids, especially water, while doing workouts help in easing cardiovascular stress and thus perk up the performance. After a strenuous exercise, it is essential to replace the loss of fluids because it can cause chronic dehydration. Fluids intake in plenty becomes life saving drug, in conditions of severe fluid loss such as diarrhea and gastroenteritis.

Hypertonic Fluids are those, which add salt to the blood, and the surrounding tissues maintain less salt. Hypotonic fluids are contrast to hypertonic and mainly water is absorbed into your blood.

Intake of fluids should be increased and eatables should be reduced for weight loss. Drinking 16-17 glasses of water per day helps in preventing numerous ailments, which are basically suffered by the body due to the insufficient and very low availability of water by the organs and tissues of the body.
