Water: is an important part of a weight loss program. Water keeps us hydrated and also helps the body to get rid of excess fat. Hunger pangs are felt before thirst when the body is dehydrated.

It is therefore important to drink adequate quantities of water to keep dehydration and hunger pangs at bay. Cold water also increases the metabolic rate.

Protein: Protein sources aid in building muscle mass and reducing fat. Good sources of protein are chicken breasts and egg whites. Protein intake also limits the overall caloric requirement by making one feel less hungry.

Grass fed beef: Small amounts of red meat can help in weight loss. They are rich in omega 3 and other nutrients. It has been proved that 1 serving of grass fed beef equals 5 servings of grain fed meat. As a result lesser fat and calories are consumed.

Grapefruit: is known to aid weight loss. It is low in calories and sodium and is known to help release water weight. It can be consumed in the form of fruit or juice to get the benefits.

Apples: help to appease hunger and thereby prevent us from consuming junk calories. They are also ideal as a natural laxative. They are a good source of energy and eating 3 of them in a day equals 5 servings of fruit.

Berries: Is a rich source of anti-oxidants and are rich in fiber, which helps with elimination. They are considered healthy snacks over other sweet treats

Yogurt: is a good diary product rich in calcium and Vitamin D. They contain probiotics and help in keeping us regular.

Fresh Salmon: is not only a rich source of protein but also has vital omega 3 fatty acids to promote brain and bone health. It has unsaturated fats as well.

Change in diet incorporating healthy options will certainly help in weight loss. Take medical advice before making drastic dietary changes.
