Facial Exercises

As you approach middle age you may look in the mirror and notice that your face is getting a little fuller and your skin is less taut.  Unfortunately, age and stress are having their toll on your face.  But have no fear, you can exercise your facial muscles and regain some of your youthfulness by moving your facial muscles into various position regularly.  The exercises listed below will tighten your facial muscles and tone your face.  Try some of these exercises the next time you look into the mirror and do not like what you have seen.

Sit tall in a chair and raise your chin up to the ceiling.  Close your mouth and begin to chew.  This works your neck and throat muscles.  Do this ten times.  Another exercise to try is to position an index finger at each eyebrow.  As you raise your eyebrows, pull your fingers down.  Hold this for thirty seconds and repeat ten times.  Purse your lips and make an oval shape of your mouth.  As you smile, your lips will stretch.

Hold for ten seconds and repeat twenty times.  While sitting, look forward.  Place your index finger and thumb on your next and pull the skin down while you lift your head.  Hold for thirty seconds and repeat fifteen times.  With your mouth closed push the tip of your tongue to your lower teeth.  Add pressure and hold for eight seconds.  Release the pose and repeat five times.  Try pushing out your lower lip as far as it will go.  Place your fingers on your collarbone and raise your chin as high as it will go.  Pull your mouth down into a frown and hold for twenty-five seconds.  Repeat ten times.  And last, extend your lower lip out and up.  This will work your chin.  Hold for twenty seconds and repeat ten times.

By performing these exercises correctly and regularly, you will see an improvement in the tightness of your facial and neck muscles.  While we can’t promise to remove years from your face, these exercises will help restore the youthful vitality of your face and neck.
