Facial Exercise

Our face is the showcase of our happiness and excitement. It also reflects our tension and stress. These are shown when the features of the face are pulled together and it freezes and sets the expression. The best way to relax the tense muscles is to laugh it out. This helps and liberates and tones the muscles of the face quickly. Try it out when reading or bathing.

The following exercise is good to relax the muscles and give a good exercise to your face.

Start by pulling all the features of the face together so that the forehead frowns, your eyes and mouth are tightly closed and the face is wrinkled. Hold for a few seconds and release.

Second step is to do the opposite. Pull all the muscles out so that the mouth is wide open, as if you are screaming, your eyes also wide open. By doing this the throat muscles get relaxed.

In this step, close your mouth and purse the lips. Now push your mouth outside, then to the left and then to the right side.

Now grin so that you push your eyes to the ears and open the eyes wide.

Grin again but this time, tuck in the chin and use the neck muscles to stretch your lips. This will tighten your neck muscles.

Do’s and don’ts for the skin

Use moisturizers regularly on the exposed skin, mostly on the hands, neck and face, as they are the most exposed parts of the body. Moisturizing slows down the dehydrating of the skin by acting as a barrier towards water loss.

Instead of harsh cleansers, use a mild soap with a pH level of 5 or maybe even less, for the face in general.

After a bath, apply moisturizer immediately, because a longer bath dehydrates the skin a lot.

Wear cloths that allow your body to breath.

Eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, and foods rich in fiber for a healthy diet. A healthy diet is the best medicine for the skin.

Drink at least 8 to 10 glasses of water for healthy, glowing skin, and remember to apply a sunscreen when going out.
