Pregnancy does amazing things to a woman’s body. Besides the fact that you need to change your eating and sleeping habits, you need to give up those bad habits that you may have had before you even conceived.

Studies show that a woman who exercises while she is pregnant has a better chance of giving up cigarettes. Doctors have told us that smoking is bad for the baby while you are pregnant. Actually, smoking is bad for you even if you are not pregnant. The studies that have been done, show that women who exercise while they are pregnant will give up the nicotine and but it out.

Smoking can cause a lower birth rate and other health issues to your unborn child. It is important to try and give up the cigarettes before the baby is even born. If you are going to breastfeed, it is another good reason to give them up. It will travel through your body and into the breast milk and affect the baby just as much as if you were still pregnant.

If you find that you are having a hard time giving up the cigarettes, speak with your doctor. He may have some suggestions on how you can quit smoking. The studies that were done on women who exercised while quitting smoking showed that the more you exercised, the better your chances were of giving up completely.

Not only are you making the baby healthier by giving up the habit but you are also making yourself healthier for the delivery of your baby and for your strength after the baby is born. Talk with your doctor and ask him if he has any suggestions on the type of exercises that you can do while you are pregnant.

You can also do some research online for some ideas on what you can do while you are pregnant. You can also find some additional information on quitting smoking while you are pregnant. Although it may be one of the hardest things that you ever do, it will be worth it in the long run.
