Exercise At Your Office

You can do some simple exercises at your desk or near it. This will help to boost your energy levels, relieve stress and burn calories. You can do them anytime, in your kitchen, in the office or even before a bath.

Go for the squats

Squats are easy to do and can be done almost anywhere. Stand facing your chair. Keep your feet shoulder width apart. Now bend your knees as if you were going to sit on the chair. Keep your weight on your heels when you do so. Slowly come back to the standing position.

Try the plie squats

Stand with your toes pointing outward and feet wide apart. Bend your knees in the direction of the toes till you cannot see your toes anymore. Return to your original standing position.

Do some wall sits

Stand with your back against the wall. Move your feet away from the wall so that the wall supports your back now. Bend your knees so that they are parallel to the ground. Hold as long as you can and then return to your original position.

Do some lunges

Stand with your arms on your side. Now take a giant step forward with your right leg. Your thigh should be parallel to the floor. Return and do the same with the other leg

Calf raises are good in the break

Hold on to your desk, wall, slab or a file cabinet to balance yourself. Then raise your heels off the floor and then lower again.

Do some peeking

While you do your toe raises peek into your neighbour’s cubicle. You can also try to walk around on the heels of your feet.

Do a gluteal squeeze

Squeeze the muscles of your rear end. Hold for a while and relax. You can do this either sitting or standing.

Shoulder raises will relieve the tension

Raise your shoulders to your ears. Hold and relax. Repeat it and find the tension leaving you.

Be discreet

You do not need to go out of your way to do exercises in the office. Maintain some discretion and judge which ones you can do in the office.
