bodybuildingsupplementsIn past times, body builders used steroids to increase their muscle strength and size. They used anabolic steroids to heighten their competitive edge. Those who were caught using steroids were stripped of their properties and titles.

Use of Steroids:

Body builders have the goal of developing stronger muscles than other athletes.  They spend more time in the gym with this particular task in mind.  To strengthen their muscles they use authorized supplements that do not have negative side effects.  These products are well known in the market and are designed to enhance the anabolic hormones that already exist in the body.

Steroids and Supplements:

Unlike steroids, supplements don’t add hormones to your body, but rather stimulate your body to secrete hormones like testosterone and androgens. Most supplements consist of nitric oxide, HGH (human growth hormone) and ZMA. These supplements can be used individually or in combination with other products. Some products are found on the market in combined form and can be easily acquired.

The significance of supplements:

Body builders use large amount of supplements in their exercise program and have a diet rich in protein to strengthen their body and build up muscle mass.  Crushed or powdered supplements are very convenient to use and is usually combined with glucose. These supplements increase the amount of protein in the diet, which is a plus for body builders.

What are supplements based on?

The supplements are derived from different sources. One of the most common is a dairy source, which is derived from curds and whey. These dairy supplements are very popular among celebrities. Another common supplement source is based on the egg protein and is derived from the full egg or from the whites of the egg.

Some supplements consist of vitamin tablets and diet pills, which improve energy levels and reduce excess levels of fat.  They also provide the individual with the necessary stamina for workouts in the gym.
