Eating Late and weight gain
Does eating late lead to weight gain? Everyone wants to know the answer to that question. Each individual has his or her own eating patterns. Some people eat an early supper, and do not eat anything after that, and are fat while some people eat late and yet manage to be slim. The main thing is not the time that you eat but the food that you eat.
Digestion
The primary reason for eating early is to enable proper digestion of food. At night when you sleep your stomach is also sleeping. At this time food does not digest properly and hence there is a tendency to put on weight. When you eat early say at 7 pm and sleep by 10 pm there is enough activity for the food to be digested.
Eating healthy
People who eat late should make sure they include healthy food in their diet. Foods that help in easy digestion with lots of fluids, an increased intake of fruits and vegetables are good when you eat late.
The body has the ability to absorb the required nutrients from the food and discard the unnecessary stuff. Avoid eating fatty foods, too many sweets, fast foods. The fat in these food items are not easily digestible and tends to get accumulated leading to weight gain.
Avoid snacking
Obesity becomes a problem only when an individual tends to snack on junk food prior to or post supper and the fat becomes accumulated. If you prefer eating late it is better to avoid eating unhealthy food before and after that. And if you eat early you should ensure not to eat junk food after eating an early supper.
Enjoying food
All said and done it is very essential to enjoy the food that you eat. When you enjoy the food and not stress about putting on weight that in itself is a big help.
In the end the choice is yours. You can eat early and not watch every bite you eat or you can eat late but make healthy choices with your food.
