Eating For Lean Body Mass

Of course you want your workout to pack a punch so you give it all you have. Unfortunately, it seems as though you are neither gaining nor losing any weight and everything seems to be staying the same. It is a possibility that your diet is poor and you need to change your eating habits.

To get lean body mass, you need to keep your calorie intake in check. The way to figure it out is to add up all of the calories that you eat in a five day period and divide that by 5. You then will need to up your calories but keep the fat between 5 and 15 percent.

If you are eating 2,500 calories a day then you will want to add an additional 500 calories to your diet. This will take you to 3,000 calories and it should include 30 grams of fat. The best way is to eat unsaturated fats. You can find these in vegetable oils.

Protein is the last ingredient into the mix. You want to eat 0.8 to 1 gram per pound of your bodyweight each day. Everyone is different in mind, body and spirit. You will need to experiment so that you are getting the right amount of the combinations.

Your body weight and height will make a difference in the way you need to adjust your daily food intake. It may take you some time to find the right amounts of the combination of foods that you should eat. Do a little research and you will be able to find some recipes that you can try to keep your diet balanced and healthy.

By practicing the right eating habits, you will be able to develop lean muscle mass. Poor diet is one of the reasons for not being able to gain or lose weight. It will also keep you from getting bigger muscles. They will stay the same no matter how hard you work them out. So change the way you eat. You have already changed the way you live. Remember, this is a lifestyle and choice.
