Eat Right and Gain Muscle
You have to eat the right foods to gain muscle mass. Your workout plan alone will not get you the muscle mass you desire. You need the proper diet too as well as enough rest.
Your body needs a lot of protein to gain muscle. Protein contains amino acids, the building blocks of muscle. Good protein sources come from lean meats, beans, fish, poultry, and eggs. Eat lean proteins only. For instance, take the skin off poultry and trim the fat off your meat.
You also need fats in your diet. Stick to the mono-saturated fats. Some of these include olives, walnuts, flaxseed oil, sunflower seeds, sunflower oil, and olive oil. These fats have the healthy omega 3 acids that you need. You also need carbohydrates. Good carbohydrates come from whole grains, vegetables, and fruits.
Bodybuilders usually break down their diet into proportions of fat, carbohydrates, and proteins. They eat 40 percent protein, 40 percent carbohydrate, and 20 percent fats. They also eat six meals a day instead of three. This keeps the body fueled and metabolism going. It is also a better way to digest food in your diet.
It is essential to keep yourself hydrated. Drink plenty of water, sugar free drinks, and low fat milk. If your muscles are not properly hydrated they will not grow.
Your body also needs the proper amount of rest. It is during rest periods that the broken down muscle tissue repairs itself and grows. Try to get enough sleep. Get eight hours a night if you can.
You should workout with weights at least three times a week to see results. You could do aerobic exercise on alternate days. It is a good idea to allow for at least one day off from all exercise during each week.
It takes persistence and planning to stay on your diet. You need to avoid all fast foods and processed foods if you can. These three elements, your diet, your workout, and proper rest will build muscle mass.
If you are lacking in one area or the other you will not build the muscle mass you want. For instance, if you are having trouble getting all your meals in you will not build muscle. It takes time and dedication to follow a bodybuilder’s program.
