Eat healthy without spending time cooking

Life is becoming more and more hectic by the day. Everywhere you see, you find people running to get somewhere. Everyone seems to be in a hurry. Speed is the newest fashion. Fastest car, fastest plane, we get fascinated by speed. However, in all the fascination and the ambition to get to the top, we have forgotten how we used to be healthy. Everyone has a taste for junk food and now everyone has an excuse for it.

There is no time. So it is time to put in something that even you do not know if it is healthy or not. No one cares it seems. However, it high time we wake up. With the ever increasing deaths due to diseases like diabetes and high blood pressure, main causes of which are unhealthy lifestyle, we need to take a look at our diet.

It is important to achieve your goal in life. However, it is important that we stay healthy while we do it. If time is of the essence here, then we should plan our meals around our schedule so that we do not miss them and gorge on unhealthy junk.

Here are a few things, which you can prepare quickly and are healthy for your body.

Breakfast
You can have whole-grain cereal for breakfast. Milk for this can be calcium fortified and non-fat. To add more vitamins, minerals, fibre and most of all flavour to your breakfast, you also add to it raisins, bananas or berries.

Smoothies are a very healthy option. You can mix any fruit of your choice with non-fat yogurt and a few ice cubes in a blender. Oatmeal is good thing to have in your cupboard.

Lunch
You can have some lentil or vegetable soup. A pizza bagel with half a whole-grain bagel, an ounce of cheese and pizza sauce will make for a great healthy pizza. Use overripe fruit as a bread spread instead of butter.

Dinner
Take a soft flour tortilla and put in mashed pinto or black beans topped with grated cheese. Spicy mustard, honey and poultry make a great combination. Prepare marinades in advance to use whenever you prefer.

Salads
Salads are the healthiest and the quickest of all meals to prepare. Therefore, keep salad ingredients ready so that you will be able to fix a quick meal.
