Drawbacks of Neglecting Joints While Muscle Building

August 28, 2009

bodybuildingThere is always a major thing that we face while building muscles. As we get old, we feel a lot of pain while doing each and every task. For people who are of average age and workout a lot, they should be careful in keeping the joints strong so that they are able to manage their work at a later stage.

Many of the body builders ignore the importance of joints and start doing workouts, which is very dangerous.

We must always pay attention to our joints, as they are important for our body movements. Many athletes and sports personalities have lost their career due to the lack of strength.

There are many factors that make our bones and joints very important. First thing is that joints and bones are the blood producing factories and they help in storing some essential minerals necessary for our body.

Also, bones safeguard and behave like armor for our muscles, which are highly essential for our organs. Vitamins also help in supporting the muscles movement.

The bones are the main parts, which rebuild themselves constantly though they are static. It gives us strength as well as flexibility through its structure that is similar to honeycomb.

When we reach 35 years of age, our bones get stagnant and stop growing and rebuilding themselves. Also, we start to lose bone density gradually.

Due to this, we tend to be fragile and find it quite difficult to handle the daily workload of our body. We find it hard to even lift our own weight and these are symptoms leading to the disease called osteoporosis.

The major function of joints is linking bones together and allowing them movement at the place where they are connected. Joints have the same physiology and their properties are totally dependent on their position in our body.

The major joints are present in the hips, ankles, knees, and shoulders and we should focus on strength training and bodybuilding at these areas. When a lot of pressure is put on the body using free weights for the sake of applying resistance to our muscles, these joints are also damaged physically.

There are several things that are possible to happen when we do such activities, one is our ligaments, they tend to get stronger, we can handle excess loads and the muscle, and joints also recover so that it can handle further loads.

When we lift more free weights then it’s highly important that we take care of our joints as well as ligaments by adding extra safety to them during workouts.

After finishing our workouts, we should perform some stretches at the joints and ligaments to relax them. By doing so, we can avoid damage of the joints and protect ourselves from pain.
