Don’t Make These Mistakes At The Gym

There is always someone telling you how to improve your workout. The tv, the radio and even your friends always seem to have some miracle advice on how you can make your workout work better for you.

By simply keeping an eye on a few of your strategies before, during and after your workout will help to insure that you are getting the most out of your visit to the gym.

One problem that can happen at the gym is during your bicep curls. Many of us tend to rock our hips and pelvis during this exercise to gain momentum. By doing this, you are not getting the complete focus on the muscles at hand. Concentrate on sitting still.

Another issue we have is stopping short in the middle of an exercise. We tend to not go through the full range of motion when needed. You are short changing yourself by not completing and seeing the motion through.

One of our biggest faults is that we forget to breathe. When lifting heavy weights, we sometimes tend to hold our breath and that can cause a dramatic change in your blood pressure and make you pass out or even cause a stroke if you have any type of heart problems.

While doing a bench press, you may find that you sometimes lift your hips. This is bad since it changes the position of your shoulders and changes the entire exercise. It is very important to keep your hips planted in the bench.

Other issues to watch out for are the wrong posture with heavy weights, letting your elbows go to far back when doing a bench press or a chest press, when doing your crunches, straining your neck and a biggie is not warming up before you workout.

By simply changing a few of your bad habits you will ensure that you have a great and fruitful workout session at the gym. Do a little research for more information on proper posture and good form. Get the most out of your exercises and your body will be good to you if you are good to it.
