Disgusting but Good Foods You Must Know

When we think of eating, our thought goes to eating something nice. We think the nicer the food, the more nutritious it will be. No one will ever imagine that there are certain disgusting things that have a lot of benefits when eaten. The thought of eating these foods could be nauseating. Try some of these if you are adventurous, but if you can’t read and find out the benefit you will be missing.

Calf liver
There is a certain feeling in us that makes us unwilling to eat baby animals. In addition to this, calf liver is the filtration system of the calf. It is where the toxins that enter the body are broken down. It actually smells badly too. Bile is produced in the liver and bile is bitter. So why should you eat such a thing?

Calf liver contains the following minerals: copper, folate, riboflavin, selenium, zinc, niacin, phosphorus, and iron. It also contains the following vitamins: A, B5, B6, B12, and C. The high levels of these substances make calf liver good for cardiovascular health and a strong immune system.

Cod liver oil
This is oil extracted from the liver of a fish called cod. Cod liver oil smells like rotten fish and no matter how you take it, whether as a pill or in liquid form, the smell will be with you for the rest of the day. It leaves some greasy taste on your tongue.

But cod liver oil is a good source of omega-3 fatty acids which is a great protection against heart disease. It boosts the immune. It is used in treating arthritis, diabetes, depression and ulcers. It also contains vitamin D which people in regions with little sunlight lack sometimes.

Wheatgrass
This is the young sprout of wheat usually found in liquid form. It is bitter so when you drink it you are given lemon to clear the bitter taste from your mouth. It tastes like lawn.  However, despite the taste it contains a lot of amino acids. It also contains fatty acids and vitamins A, B, C and E. It has the power to neutralise toxins and carcinogens that get to the body lowering the risk of certain types of cancer.

Just as said in the beginning, if you have the guts, get some of these into your gut.
