Diet is something that we consume in our day to day life to maintain a good and healthy life. A balanced diet is the one that provides our body with all the suitable nutrients that help in maintaining a healthy body.
An individual’s body requires all the nutrients like proteins, carbohydrates, fat, fibre, minerals, vitamins etc in order to maintain a hale and healthy body. All these nutrients play a very important role in our body like in the growth and development of the body, mind and brain, in maintaining good health and in giving energy to the body for the daily activities.
It is very important to have a diet plan that suits an individual’s body. Every individual’s diet differs according to his body type. There is something called as the BMI, that decides the diet an individual has to follow in his lifestyle. Depending on the BMI of a person, a diet plan is made such that his body meets all the energy requirements in a balanced form.
It is always advisable to consult a dietician if you are not sure as to what has to be included in your daily diet. For example, lot of carbohydrates alone in the diet may make you put on weight, and may not suffice the energy requirement of your body.
It is also very important to engage your body in physical activities since the food that you consume must be digested in a proper way and must be assimilated and distributed across the body to fulfil the body’s demands.
Some of the common food items that can be included and that would suit anyone’s diet plan are fresh food, be it fruits, vegetables, fish or meat. Fresh food supplies the body with a good amount of nutrition.
Moderately cooked food helps in retaining the nutritive value of food, so it is advisable to have moderately cooked food.
Also avoid very oily and spicy food that contains lot of preservatives and additives, since these reduce the nutritive value of the food consumed.
Thus a balanced diet with all essential nutrients can be the best diet to suit you, if followed properly.
