Diet For Gestational Diabetes

Gestational Diabetes is that when a pregnant woman’s blood sugar level goes high. Gestational Diabetes is a result of hormonal changes occurs in woman’s body at the time of pregnancy Gestational Diabetes mostly after the birth of the baby but it can again affect at the time of another pregnancy.
In this type of diabetes body does not make enough insulin or insulin didn’t work properly.
Carbohydrates changes to glucose after reaches to body.
Hormones increased in placenta (is an organ that connects baby to the umbilical cord to he uterus and nutrients transfers from mother to child) and changes to glucose. This is called “insulin resistance”
High blood sugar can harm mother and child both. In some cases it results to overweight baby or baby have diabetes. Another risk to mother she can have premature baby.
The problem can be solved if would be mother cares her diet well. Some of tips of healthy diet for gestational diabetes are follows:
• Try to take a consistent amount of carbohydrates as your meal.
• Eat after every three hours as it can provide energy to pregnant woman.
• Try to take high fibrous food items in your meal. To get the target add cereals, pasta, rice, fruits and vegetables in your food.
• Eat food with less sugar and fats. Always avoid chocolates, sugar-items and fried things as your food.
• Try to drinks 8 cups of drinks per day. Drinks can be fresh juices, milk without cream and soft drinks.
• Take the food rich in calcium. All dairy products are rich in calcium. Also, calcium rich food helps in building bones. So, it can prove beneficial for a baby.
• Take three servings of iron in food. Quantity of iron in food must be of 30mg. in daily diet. Meat, egg, fish and green leafy vegetables can provide Iron in food.
• Add Vitamin C to your diet chart. Sources of Vitamin C include oranges, grapefruits, strawberries, honeydew, broccoli, cauliflower, sprouts, green peppers, tomatoes and mustard greens.
• Include Vitamin A to your diet. Sources rich in Vitamin A include carrots, pumpkins, sweet potatoes, spinach, water squash, turnip greens, beet greens, apricots and cantaloupe.
