Detox Diet

Detox -diet is the kind of diet responsible for detoxification of the body naturally. It is a process that constantly removes and counterbalances the toxins or contaminants from the body. Toxins are basically the contaminants and the pollutants, which are harmful chemicals effecting the body, and that are essential to be removed out from the body. In a detox-diet, the toxins are first changed into less harmful compounds and excreted by the means of stools and urine from the body. Toxins may be generated in the body itself during various metabolic processes; such as ammonia is formed after protein is metabolized.

Many chemical toxicants enter our body from the pesticide, smoking, pollution, cleaners, drugs and food additives.

Usually, a detox-diet reduces the chemicals digested and absorbed by the body. The best detox-diet comprises of the organic food that are grown without the use of pesticides and chemicals.  Detox-diet actually acts by increasing the level of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants in the body of the person constantly consuming the organic food.  For the process of detoxification, foods that are rich in fiber and water should be encouraged to be incorporated in daily diets as they help in flushing out the toxins quickly by improving the bowel movements and urination.

Detox-diet is becoming very popular these days because people are realizing the importance of staying healthy because of the increased pollutants and food contaminants. Moreover, we all know that the junk food and preserved canned food being consumed tend to have unhealthy effect on our body. Researchers claim that there is an intake of a lot of chemicals everyday from the food, water and air, we are dependent on.

These ingested chemicals are deposited as fat cells in the body. This is very harmful for our body as it results in a toxicants accumulation in the body, which is called a body-burden.
