This time of the year most of us want to go out in the sun and prepare a tasty barbeque meal for the loved ones. For a good barbeque meal, a wide range of food and proper presentation is required. A good place for the barbeque, great company and proper beverages with the perfect dessert will definitely add stars to the event.

Given bellow is a great collection of food to make the barbeque meal outstanding. The preparation steps are also given for your convenience. The ingredients are for preparing a meal for four; however the amount can be increased taking into account the number of guests.



Basil Shrimp:

Ingredients:



Three pounds of shrimp, peeled and de-veined.
Three tbsp of country made mustard
Three cloves of garlic, peeled and minced
¼ cup of melted butter / margarine
Two and half tbsp olive oil
One and a half lemon’s juice
Some fresh basil with stems removed
Salt to taste
Pepper powder
Skewers

Preparation:

Add olive oil to the melted butter/margarine in a shallow bowl. Add the left ingredients and mix well. Now add shrimp and coat it well. Cover and refrigerate for at least an hour.




Now oil the grate. Take out the shrimp from the marinade and thread on the skewers. Place skewers on the heated grill and cook the shrimp for two minutes on each side.

Barbeque Sauce:

Ingredients:

6 tbsp lemon juice
Half cup cider vinegar
1 tbsp brown sugar
¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
A cup of ketchup
Half tsp mustard powder

Preparation:

In a sauce pan on low heat, combine all the ingredients and stir well. Simmer for ten minutes and remove from the heat.

Main dish: Cajun Chicken:

Ingredients:

8 boneless chicken breasts, skinned
20 ounces of vegetable oil
1/8 cup of Cajun seasoning
1/8 cup of steak seasoning
1/8 cup of lemon pepper
Garlic powder to taste

Preparation:

Pat the chicken dry after washing. Pound each breast to about half inch thickness with the help of a wooden meat mallet. In a large bowl, combine the Cajun and steak seasoning, lemon and pepper. Add the chicken after mixing. Coat the chicken well and add garlic powder to taste. Refrigerate for half an hour. Now apply oil on the grill and preheat on a high flame. Remove the chicken from the marinade and let the oil to drain off. Put the chicken breast on the hot grill and cook each side for about 6 to 8 minutes. Now serve the chicken on a Caesar salad. It can be served both hot and cold.
