Delicious And Healthy-Stuffed Bittergourd

Bittergourd is a vegetable, which is rich in healthy attributes, but still not so popular among people. Due its bitter taste, many even don’t care to eat it in their lifetime. Many of us eat it out of compulsion thinking that it’s good for health.

And some make dishes out of the bittergourd in such a way that, it loses all it’s healthy properties and is consumed just for the sake of having it.

Keeping all the above aspects in mind, I am going to tell you about one recipe of bittergourd, which can really tickle your taste buds and healthy as well.

The ingredients you need is five to six very small sized bittergourds (in case you don’t find small ones, you can choose very big ones and cut them into two pieces from the middle not horizontally), half cup mustard paste, half teaspoon of ginger paste, two big onions, which should be finely chopped, half tea spoon of turmeric powder and three to four table spoon of any kind of cooking oil.

Now, you need to boil the bitter guards (pieces) in plain water while adding a bit of salt. If you are taking small sized ones then you need to cut a slight on one side of the bittergourd. By this time, you make a mixture of mustard paste, onion, turmeric, ginger and salt and then fry them on a pan for say two to three minutes. Make sure that your mixture is not watery as, the mixture will be used for stuffing.

After five to seven minutes of boiling, take out the bittergourd from water and take out its seeds from the inside with the opposite side of a spoon carefully. You should not tear the skin of the bittergourd in any case and for that they should not be over-boiled.

Once you take out the seed, the inside will be hallow, which needs to be filled by the mixture, which you have already made. After filling them up, now you can fry them on a pan with a very less amount of oil. Fry them in a slow temperature till they turn brown and serve hot with rice.
