Coping with water loss

The skin of the face needs more water than any part of the body skin to bloom. Consuming directly is more beneficial than apply any stuff. However, the modern living conditions like, air-conditioning, sunbathing, smoking, central heating, drinking, flying and dieting, encourage a lot of water to escape from the body and thus results in wrinkles.

Following are some of the conditions which lead to water loss and their solutions:-

Sunshine: – sun rays enhance the rate of evaporation of water from the skin. The ray also increases the generation of free radicals, which increases the aging process. 80% of skin aging is caused by the sun.

Solution: – if your skin type is normal or dry then try to be in the shade. However if you cannot resist the sun, then use creams which are rich in vitamin A C and E as they avoid free radicals on contact. These creams, sunscreens and lotion are good for the skin as they protect the skin from damaging elements.

Smoking: – smoking affects the wrinkles the most after the sun. Smoking thins down the skin which lets the water to escape easily. The chemicals in the cigarettes further damage the skin as they accelerate normal ageing. Vitamin C which is needed for collagen production is destroyed by smoking. It also deprives the skin of important nutrients and oxygen which may result in an aged skin.

Solution: – the only solution is to quit smoking. But if you can’t do those then at least cut down on it.
Air conditioning and central heating: – both of these remove moisturizer from the skin.

Solution: – keep the heat of the house temperate. The use of a humidifier can raise the moister content of the air by 80%, which is perfect for the skin.

Alcohol: – consumption of alcohol dries up the facial skin due to water loss from the skin. it steals oxygen and vitamin C from the body giving an aged skin. The red blood cells of the skin stick together and the capillaries stick up which can break and result in thread veins.

Solution: – its best to avoid drinking as much as possible, but the recommended amount is maximum 21 units per week.
