Change Your Body In 48 Hours
November 19, 2008
For one weekend, make a decision to care for yourself and your body, and make it a priority. At the end of the weekend, you will feel fitter, more energized and stronger.
Get Focused
Taking care of you must be a priority. Decide what you want to achieve, set a goal and write it down. Take small steps towards your goal; don’t set yourself up to fail. Share your goals with a friend; start a journal to record your journey to better health. Give yourself the time and space to make some resolutions that you can keep.
Get Motivated
Think about what you want to achieve and form a mental picture of yourself doing it. Maybe you want to lose 12 pounds, maybe take up a sport or run in a marathon. Whatever it is, it will be your motivation when you are tempted to go back to your old, unhealthy ways. Make up a small catchy ditty about your goal so that you can use it like a mantra when you are tempted by that chocolate cake.
Body Image
It is not possible to feel good about yourself if you don’t like the way you look. How do you feel about your body? Do you judge your worth by how much you weigh? Do you make negative comments about yourself to other people? Do you avoid doing things because of how you think you look?
Give yourself some respect – you deserve it. Be aware of how often you say negative things about yourself, and when you do, immediately replace it with something positive. Emphasize the bits you do like about yourself – “I really like how my hair curls at the back.” Don’t put off doing things – start living the life you want now. Stop thinking you have to wait until……… before you can do something. Choose the company of people who build you up not put you down.
Stick to your Goals
If your goals are written down, it is easier to look at them often to remind yourself of what you want to achieve. The more you think about your goal, the quicker and easier it will be to achieve success.
Eat Healthy
Eating the right foods increases your energy and makes you feel better. Proper diet and nutrition is the basis of a healthy lifestyle.
Get Fit, Get Energy
The body was made for movement and to be healthy, you need some activity every day. It doesn’t need to be strenuous; 20 to 30 minutes of mild activity will give you huge health benefits. Walk, ride a bike, play with the kids or the dog, swim, climb stairs, do yoga – anything that gets your whole body moving.
