Can You Burn Calories through Circuit Training?
April 6, 2009
Hydraulic circuit training fitness facilities are popping up all over the place. There are over 10,000 circuit training gyms across the United States where men and women go to train and lose weight.
The exact amount of calories burned and weight lost through hydraulic circuit training cannot be exactly measured, as results vary by the individual. Plus, a person’s day-to-day success varies. There are many reasons why the results vary. These include the intensity in which a person works out, the setting level on the machinery being used, the person’s age, the amount of lean muscle mass the person already has on their body, the person’s hormone levels, their hydration levels, and the type of exercises that are being done.
In order to have successful results when doing circuit training, you have to put the effort into it. Here is an example of the results that can occur when a person weighing 165 pounds runs for thirty minutes but at a different speed each time. When the person runs at 5 mph for thirty minutes, they can burn almost 300 calories. If that person runs at 10 mph, they can increase their calorie loss by almost 300 calories. The harder the person works, the more calories they burn. This fact holds true for any type of exercise that is being performed.
When you use weights to build strength or lose weight, you have to put the same level of effort into your workout to see the maximum results. Again, if a 165-pound person weight trains at a moderate level, they can anticipate burning around 112 calories. If that same person steps up their weight training routine to something more vigorous, they can lose up to 225 calories in that same thirty-minute period.
The amount of calories that you burn during your circuit training routine is up to you. The more you put into your exercise, the more you will get out of it. If your routine is a vigorous one, you can double the amount of fat that you lose. This applies to both weight training and cardio exercise.
The great thing about hydraulic circuit training is that you are getting your weight training and cardio exercise at the same time. The circuit is comprised of weight training machinery and cardio equipment. By alternating between the two forms of exercise, your heart rate is consistently elevated while you work every muscle in your body. By performing “double duty,” you can increase your weight loss results. A thirty-minute circuit training session can help you lose between 411 and 824 calories. This makes hydraulic circuit training such a successful way of burning calories. Hydraulic circuit training is an excellent way of incorporating both cardio exercises with resistance training for maximum weight loss results.
