Can yoga help in muscle fitness

Yoga is well known for its effect on the mind rather than physical effects.  Most of the yoga practitioners claim that yoga helps in reducing mental stress.  The effect on the mental stability and improvement in way of thinking are the best results with regular yoga practice.  But the question is how yoga can help in improving muscle fitness.  The research on this question results in a fact that the result of yoga on fitness is little less than the effect on the mindset.

Yoga can help in increasing the resistance and stability in muscles.  Regular yoga practice will help in maintaining the health and the strength.  But yoga may not really help in bulking up the muscles.  Probably I would rather say that the precondition to bodybuilding would be setup the mindset healthy and relaxed.  To prepare the body for the bodybuilding activity, yoga will definitely help for every individual.

Yoga poses also give better relief on breath and flexibility.  With the improvement in the breathing technique and the increased flexibility on stiff muscles, the further physical movements in the bodybuilding workout process can be done effectively to get better results.  Some of the yoga poses really help in relieving the stress caused at the muscle joints and can stretch the muscles better after the weight training sessions.

Some of the yoga poses also increase the body stability and balance.  Such balancing yoga practices help in strengthening the muscles very much.  The yoga practises also help in increasing the core strength which is mandatory to perform the workout effectively.

Yoga practise is also claimed to patch up the muscle injuries which are common after heavy weight training.  The balancing and posture specific yoga exercises can help in aligning the muscles to give best relief.  In short, yoga practice can help in increasing the muscle fitness and strength indirectly and can help in achieving the fitness goal.
