Can Mouthwash Replace Brushing?
When it is about complete and proper oral hygiene, mouthwash has its significance. Why the use of mouthwash is recommended, because it has the antiseptic agents, which can clean and restrict the growth of bacteria. The presence of various bacteria in everyone’s mouth is a common phenomenon. Uncontrolled growth of such bacteria can cause tooth decay, bad breath or any other dental problems. To control the bacterial growth, it is usually advised to use mouthwash.
On the other hand, you must have come across many reports saying that mouthwash has bad effect on our health as well. In such a situation, we get confused thinking that what to believe and what not.
According to many dentists and physician, one should not solely depend upon the mouthwash while abandoning the brushing of teeth. They believe that mouthwash ahs its own significance, but it cannot replace brushing of teeth.
Irrespective of using of mouthwash daily, you should follow the routine of brushing your teeth twice a day. Even, the flossing should also be done daily. Actually, mouthwash is useful, when you use them after having food. The use of mouthwash guarantees the restriction of bacterial growth, which is usually triggered by the stuck food particles inside the mouth. Each time you eat, it is not feasible to brush your teeth. However, mouthwash is better option in this situation. To rinse you mouth, about 20 ml of mouthwash should be used each time.
Are you in the habit of using mouthwash just after brushing their teeth? If so, then change your habit. According to dentists, you should not rinse your mouth immediately after brushing. If you use mouthwash immediately after brushing then the cationic present in mouthwash deactivate an ingredient called SLS, which is present in toothpaste.
People, who are facing the problem of bad breath, they should avoid using mouthwash, which contains a significant percentage of alcohol.
